Poor Car.

I've been looking at it further, white isn't even it's natural color; the read deck lid logo has been sprayed over.
I wonder if the brush comes with the car.
And it is indeed, a X150 side light and exit vent glued to the side.
The body has been chopped off to fit the wheels, so on further inspection, not rescueable.

Everything is rescuable, but recovering the wheel arches would need some metalwork skills. Rear plinth was body colour on early cars. Might be a project for someone looking for a coupe.
Those wheels look like they came from a steam locomotive.
Each to his own, I guess.
What's the seller asking?

Ugh, how come this stuff primarily comes from the southeast US? I lived down there for a number of years, and it seemed like there were always cars (normally Monte Carlos and Malibus, but apparently Jaguars aren't immune) with 26 inch wheels rolling around. The wheels were usually so big it would raise the car and would look like a lift kit was installed.

This one is outside Chicago Illinois.
The primary reason the lift kit and large wheels craze took off, is it allowed people with business that wasn't conducted "on the books" to spend large amounts of money on a car, but no red flags are raised by say, having no significant income through life but owning a current year model Ferrari. The way it makes a car drive like crap, primarily limits usage to either very low speeds, or very good roads. You end up with a lot of blown out parts if you drive a car like that on road systems that deteriorate faster than the south east.
I am not an expert on XK8's as I have not yet owned one, but if you look at the picture from inside the door, its either over spray of white onto another color, or seriously in need of cleaning.

I'd imagine the impact of those wheels regardless of miles means that the car likely needs all bushings replaced, and possibly wheel bearings as well.

There hasn't been room for me to have one for over a year, but the habit of checking listings for remarkable good color combinations I like still remains.
I really need the extra space the larger X150 has, but I find the X100 to a far more beautiful car. An XK8 would have to be an occasional use car, and I already have two of those. I admire the X100, and enjoy the window shopping.
