Default problems with opening doors by remote control after installation darkening film on w

I just installed obscured film (Llumar) on the rear window and rear side windows of my coupe and it is now more difficult than opening the doors by remote control. I told the foreman of Jaguar workshop that this depends on the film applied to the rear window where there is antenna for opening doors.

Possible?

The antenna on the rear window is on the inner surface of the glass so having a film applied on the inside shouldn't interfere with the signal from the fob outside the vehicle.

I was looking for a photo of the rear window of my 2005 XK8 but don't have one which shows the antenna. If I recall correctly, the lead from the antenna goes onto a press stud on the headliner. Is this lead damaged or not been refitted correctly after the film was applied?

Thank you Graham.
I just saw on top of the rear window electrical connection of the antenna. Today we're going to check if there are any rust or other problems on electric contact, then I'll let you know.

I also thought it was exhausted battery in the remote but when i have replaced it the problem has remained the same

We found the problem.

In the Llumar darkness films are present metal particles in the composition, and this creates a problem with the reception antenna of the rear window.

Pleased to hear you found the answer. Presumably you will have to find a film with the same shading but no metal particles?

I have a Sanef tag for automatic payment of Autoroute toll road charges in France. It fits inside the front windscreen next to the rear view mirror. The fitting instructions warn that it may not work with some Japanese vehicles which have a metallic reflective coating on the glass to reduce glare from the sun. This is the same issue as your Llumar film and the rear screen antenna. I should have thought about that!
