Pulled the trigger XK8
Hello from Nashville
The great advise by the Forum was most helpful.. After a serious hunt by my friends and ,club I brought home a 03 XK8 Thursday. Very clean, three owner car with 69k miles. Clear Carfax, recently detailed, New Yokohamas, no known issues. white and saddle with little signs of wear. Pictures to follow.
Having owned a S Type R , I was very nervous on the three hour interstate trip home. Ghost of Ristricted performance and Vacuum Leak was laying in my mind. But ran and drove fine.
No maintenance records for the past three years .Yesterday I left it with a club friend who owns a couple and usually has two or three others in his very nice shop. Test drive, read the
Codes, replace all fluids including the ZF6, inspect the brakes.
She has owned Miata's for 25 years and recently sold her Mazdaspeed. This will give aging car enthusiasts a comfortable convertible for monthly club events. The Tiger is fun but very hot in the summer.
Just went on line an petitioned to rejoin the local Jag club.
Thankful the Forum for helping me avoid making an error.

Pulled the trigger
Thanks guys. It was worth the search. One small problem it seems this is no longer "my" car. Seems she is very taken with HER new convertible. .
With luck will have it back from maintenance in a few days with no unpleasant surprises.
We will take it on our car group excursion through Alabama, Louisiana and return in the fall.
Maybe a XKR stablemate to keep domestic tranquility?

Welcome to the club
I am sure it will give you many smile miles. I have had my 2004 for 3 years now and have put on 23,000 trouble free mile on a car that now has 126,000 on her. Do your regular maintenance and ask us for help. At over a 100,000 miles I still use no fluids, have no leaks amd wouldn't hesitate to take her on a cross country tour tomorrow. Enjoy!
