Hi,

I am purchasing a used XK8 with only $30,200 miles on it in Miami Florida and I am looking for a place to check it out to see if it has been in an accident, or had any major problems and appears to be in good condition.

Apparently, the local Jaguar dealership in Miamicharges $375 for a pretty comprehensive inspection. Does any one know of a way to get the car looked at for less?

Also, the right window does not operate. Apparently, the cable that connects the motor to the window is not working properly and needs to be repaired. I have been told this will cost $500 to repair. About $250 for the regulator and about $250 forabout 2 hours of labor.

I am looking for a less expensive used part and less expensive labor to install the part if possible. Is this something I can do myself? If so, how do I open the door panel?Any suggestions?

Lastly, I live in southern New Hampshire and am not sure what the best way is to transport the vehicle from Miami to the Boston, MAarea. One quote to transport the vehicle on a flat bed is $485 but many other transporterstell me that the vehicle will sit in Miami for weeksbefore its moved and that I need to payover $600- $700to really have it moved.

Any adviceon any of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

I took your good advice. I am hiring an inspection company for only $125 and I found a transportation company who is chargingonly $485 to transport the vehicle from Miami Beach, Florida to Boston, MA.
