Default Quickie ABS question.......

So over the last 2 weeks I was busy launching my new business and the XKR has sat all lonely in a corner of the warehouse with no attention. Monday I decided enough driving newer crapy cars and it was time to dust off the R and enjoy driving again. On a side note is there nothing better than the smell of leather and wood in a Jag thats been locked up for a little while?

Anyway, I fired her up and away I went. I did however notice the brakes squeaking then about 10 minutes later the ABS light and the no Trac control light starts showing. I drove it to get gas shut it off and upon restarting it the lights were gone. On the way home (about 40 miles highway driving) it was fine but when I exited and hit the brakes it came back on.

I figured I would have my mechanic look at it in the morning so I didnt mess with it then the next morning (Tues) it was fine, from starting to driving. Thought maybe it was just mad at me for not driving her. Then yesterday it happened on and off all day again with no real pattern.

My question..... sensor ? brakes ? both ? quick link to something that might help ? I did a quick search but I always get like 4 pages of crap and not what I want. I swear before I die I will figure out the best way to search on here.

Thanks in advance gentlemen.

Probably your ABS module. Go to the following thread, Front Brakes on 2001 XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum. Gus also have good info in his web page also (jag repair.com). If you don't feel confident in doing the repair yourself, you can find the same repair service in EBay for around $50.00. You send them your module and they returned it back fixed. ABS ECM, LCM items in MODULE REPAIR PRO store on eBay!

If the car has been sitting for an extended period of time you may want to get the battery checked or charge it and see what takes place. These cars do not act kindly to low voltage.

This problem could also be caused by a sticky switch at the brake pedal.

Or possibly a wire working loose in a wiring harness?
The front ones are known to fail sometimes due to movement of the steering.
