Default Recovering interior windshield header, with vinyl?

I am replacing the foam that has collapsed on the convertible header to get the wrinkles out. And am wondering if anyone has ever replaced the clothe material with leatherette,. I found a material that is a perfect match to the interior leather, just wondering if anyone has ever done it. I realize the visors wont match.

I recovered the A pillars and the header panel with vinyl that closely matched the dash color. The fabric was stained and the foam was gone. I would suggest a heat gun or perhaps a hair dryer to help form the vinyl. Mine turned out reasonably well and is a great improvement. I spent about $25.00 for material at Jo Anne's Fabrics. Exact match was special order from upholstery shop and well over $100.00
