Post Remote will only open the trunk-not door locks?

I normally don't use the remote to lock and unlock the car over the winter,I went to the store and tried to use the remote to lock the car, nothing.I tried the trunk and it opened, went and tried to lock or unlock from the remote-nothing.Any ideas on what to try ?The remote still works on the trunk, why?would a weak battery in the remote cause this?

Have you tried cleaning the remote contacts? Open your remote up carefully and see if you have dirt or grime on those contacts that open the door. Being that normal use the DOOR unlock and lock is used the most it would seem these might be getting dirty faster than the trunk. Use rubbing alcohol and gently clean those contacts and use soap to wash the rubber button piece and front plate. MAKE SURE you dry everything before you put it back together and it should help you out.

That's probably very good advice, but I would try a fresh battery in the remote also. You have nothing to lose.
Good luck,
Brian

Turbo68,thanks for your advice,I cleaned the contacts and now everything works.Since I had it open I took down the battery number and will pick one up today and replace it for good measure, thanks Brian for reminding me that it was a good time to do it as long as I had the remote apart.I am a happy camper, thanks again guys.
