Default replaced tensioners, question before I start post

So I replaced the tensioners on my 2001 xk8. The old ones looked fine, but I just don't want any issues down the road.

When I removed the nut holding the dipstick tube down I did not note how far it threaded onto the threaded rod. Now when I returned the dipstick to the threaded rod, it does not seat on the bolt head of the threaded rod. Should it?

I am leery of putting the nut back on for fear of breaking the dipstick tab.

Yes, it should seat on the bolt head of the threaded rod, with another nut going on top to secure it.

Are you sure that the dip stick tube is all the way in the engine at the bottom?

On that little guy i preformed surgery, with a die grinder I simply cut a little slot in the metal tab, like the fuel injector plug harnesses... Now I can slide it right on and bolt it down.. easy removal for further service.
