Default Replacement Steering Column XK8 2003

I need to replace my steering column due to a worn bushing in the top part which causes the entire assembly to move slightly.

Searching I can only find early used model parts. Anybody know if all years will fit an 03?

Is it an up-and-down looseness of the steering wheel? Something like a fraction of an inch? I believe there were some posts about loose bushings and an ability to tighten things up to restore firmness.

I checked it out and the bushing, horizontal connection, the one closest to the steering wheel is worn, I can see the shaft move slightly in the bushing. At full up and full down the mechanism rests on a stop and has no play but anywhere between full up/down the steering wheel will move in the 10:30 direction about 1/4 inch, when the wheel is extended its magnified.

The mechanism at the top where it tilts wears. I am not sure if USA/ LHD differs from UK as my parts EPC is on work computer but if you get stuck we have them in UK.

You probably just need the central unit. You can take the motors off your old unit. The motors and reach cable fetch a premium.

I hope that helps

Ben, exactly correct. Would prefer not replacing the complete column. I would think the RHD and LHD would be the same as long as it fits an 03. Is the ignition switch on the right with RHD?

If you come across one let me know, I've had no luck here.
