Need help with instruction on replacing the ignition tumbler in a 1997 XK8...it has excessive play and at times when I switch the engine off it continues to run, until I move the key around a bit between full off and slightly before full off.
I have not purchased a new tumbler. but have the lower cover off and don't see any obvious route to remove.

Are you wishing to replace the Ignition Lock Barrel (item 9) or the Ignition Switch (item 9)?



JTIS refers to driving out the pin (arrowed) securing the solenoid to the lock housing:



It gives no more detail but this must allow the Barrel to be withdrawn and give access to the Switch.

Yes, thats what I believe I need to change, thanks so much for the pic...now all I need to do is source a replacement tumbler.
