Replacing rearview mirror 97 XK8

I pulled off a cracked autodim mirror off my 97 XK8. I found this may not have been the orig mirror. It was not connected. It had no connector on the mirror side and only 3 wires comming out of the mirror. Wt, bk, grey. The yellow female connector in the car has 4 wires. Pink/bk, br/bk, y/wt, r/wt. This is a donnelly I (E8)011530. I have a mirror that my brother gave me that is like new. Looks almost identical, same numbers but it has a knob on the back and 8 wires. Has anybody spliced an 8wire into a 4 wire that you can tell me how and what wires into what. Thanks, Steve

Wiring diagram for the interior rear view mirror (electrochromatic) for 97 XK8 shows...

white/red B+
Purple/black Mirror tint output
Yellow/blue Side Lamps on
Lt.Green/yellow Top down ??
Yellow/White Reverse Gear Selected
Black/Pink Logic Grnd.

Purple/black goes to the two outside mirrors( if dimming)
Yellow/blue goes to light switch
Lt. Green/yellow goes to the top down switch
Yellow/White goes to the reverse lamps

Line to top down and the line to side lamps DELETED VIN 003300 onwards..
