Reprogramming key-chain remote

Default Reprogramming key-chain remote
Looked in the HOW TO forum and process for 2002 XK8 seemed easy and strait- forward. The locksmith who I'm getting the remote from said bad thing will happen if he doesn't do the job. Specifically the car's electronics will shut off for 24 hours. Is he BSing me? Or should I do the 130 mile drive to his shop.

The locksmith now claims that he is not permitted to send through the mail.

Default Mohamad went to the mountain
It took all afternoon and half a tank of gas but he did a good job and eveythong seems to work.
