Default Reset your key fob.

Found this in a British parts forum; have no idea if it works, but it sounds
good. I think Austin Powers came up with this secret programming.

Pull the headlamp flasher stalk toward you and at the same time, turn the ignition key to position one.
Then release the stalk and flash the lamps five times . Press any button on the fob and then turn off the ignition and the fob should be programmed. After five flashes , you should hear a noise from the security sounder and then also a bleep after you press each key on the fob.

(bleep??? As in what the bleep??)

Someone is pulling your leg. This couldn't possibly work. See our programming instructions in the FAQ Sticky above alphabetically listed as 'Remote keyless fob programming'.

That's how you do it. That's how you put the remotes in learning mode to program them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Only can do this on the 97-06 XK8, 04-06 maybe to 09 XJ8, and 98-03 XJ8. The X-type has it's own programing procedure, the S-type still needs IDS. Now these are only for the remote function, not the immobilizer key function programing.
