Symptoms: car parked outside and deadlocked, bout of heavy rain and wind and the alarm is activated.

As this is an area I have not looked into yet, my questions are;

Is it possible to lock the the car without setting the alarm system?, and if that cannot be done, can the alarm system be made less sensitive to adverse weather conditions?

All comments greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with my 2005 XK8 4.2-S Coupe in very heavy rain, strong wind or hail.

Although you are in France, I expect you have a UK RHD spec XK8? If so, and its configured like mine was, it's not possible to lock even just using the key without setting the alarm system.

When my 2005 alarm went off in bad weather, I just had to cancel the alarm and leave the car unlocked.

Thanks Graham. I kind of figured this maybe the answer.

At home in France the car is in the garage so no problem, I'm in the UK at the moment visiting family so the car is outside.

Looks like I'll just have to live with it.
