Side turn signals (repeaters) in mirrors
I just bought a magazine all about the Xk8. I'm there I found an article about a man who did a major upgrade to his XKR. One of the upgrades he did was put the side turn signals into his mirrors, like on a modern car. I searched on the web and couldn't find anything. So my question is:
Anyone know where to buy these or if this is a custom job done specifically for him? Because I love the way these look and would love to purchase some.
how to replicate:
- mark horizontal line at your favoured location.
1/4 inch masking tape is ideal for a 1/4 inch slot
- remove mirror cover
- cut slot
- fill slot with diamond pattern plexiglass light panel material from home depot,
about $5 for a 3'x4' panel,
can be flush mount or rear mount depending on your patience
with flush, you will not need to paint,
with rear mount, touchup of the raw edge would be needed
- set in some led lights and wire as needed
- refit mirror cover
note:
avoid dremels and such since the heat melts the plastic and
leaves a very ragged edge
smooth side out with the plastic
plastic can be dyed for a smoke effect/yellow effect
the flush mount can be made by sandwiching a larger
piece of smoot plastic to the inside surface of the
outside piece

In my case, I have fender repeaters and flashing markers.
Hopefully, before someone starts edging into another lane, their taillights ought
to be clear of the front bumper of the other car. That makes the taillights visible.
Wish people would actually pay attention though.
