Default Side Window rattle bumper weatherstrip material

If you have a rattle with your side windows this is the type of weather strip they are made of. It is refered to as "Side bulb" weather strip. It comes in a long roll about 6 foot long. It is not expensive as I purchased it on ebay for about $10. You just have to cut off what you need. For my problem it was the two short strips each about a inch long. Be aware you have to remove the door panel and some of the weather stipping to get access to mount the bumpers. Expect some broken plastic.

It seems to be almost the ticket, but I recall that the OEM part is felt lined. I wonder if the extra friction from the lack of felt will affect the power window operation? Please let us know.

I was watching a video of this very issue today. One suggestion, to ensure that the glass doesn't stick on the rubber extrusion, is to use some cloth type electrical tape on the surface that contacts the glass.

The actual "bulb" is soft and the pressure on the window is not very strong. The rubber surface is smooth and so far the operation of the window seems normal. I did apply silicon spray to the location so we will see as that wears off. I have never seen a actual OEM part as when I started this fix the part is not available.
