Default Solar charging from flat

Hi
my 2002 XKR (4.2) has a flat battery after about 9 days.
I'll soon get a solar battery charger.
Can I plug that directly onto a flat battery?
Cheers
Luke

If its discharged after 9 days you need a real charger ..how old is battery ? Probably scrap . I have had no success with solar chargers as they are too weak ,...get a new battery and a float charger. As you are in UK I just bought this float charge for £ 15.99 works great ..ebay item 304352565913. the right battery is only about £60 delivered the next day.

Default No outdoor plug

Cheers Pistnbroke,My XKR doesn't fit into my garage (that's got my trike in), I don't have time to watch it as it charges and I don't have an outdoor plug. I use a wheelchair all of the time and can't easily detach/charge/reattach the battery. The XKR is new to me and its substantial paperwork doesn't detail when it was last changed so I'm assuming I'll need to replace the battery. I'm essentially wondering if the (7.5 watt) solar charger is likely to damage anything if I try it. I certainly want the battery to last at least a week.I'm thinking the old battery may be useful as a potential booster I could recharge and attach to the replacement battery. My breakdown cover should provide someone who can test the battery and potentially jump it.Here and elsewhere I've seen discussions which suggest batteries will only last about 4 years in them. I'm considering paying £160 for one with a 5-year guarantee because I want to avoid electrical problems.Which batteries for £60 do you recommend and how long are they lasting please?
thanks again
Luke

You should get 4 years though the one on my nissan lasted 10.
I buy the cheapest on ebay so that was about £60 last time.

I recently bought a yuasa ybx5019 from Tanya batteries in uk, not the cheapest battery but I think the best, it was delivered next day. I also use a solar trickle charger they do work but obviously not as good as a mains powered one,
