Default Squeaking noise from the front seats?

It never bothered me before, I guess because I had so much noise coming from the old suspension. Now that I've changed out the suspension, it's so quite in the car that now I keep hearing a squeaking noise from under the drivers seat as well as the passenger seat if someone is sitting in it. If I move the seat forward or backwards, the squeak will go away for a minute, then start up again.

Anyone have any experience with this?

It's really starting to drive me squirrely!!!!!!

Danny

raise the seat up a bit and try again (using your controls) mine was sitting just right atop the module, and apparently, the support is not as strong in the seat cushion, and my 185lb butt was pushing on the housing. I saw another xk8 owner who actually had a broken seat frame, but if both of your seats are doing it, i'm guessing just a good saggin. You could remove the module from being 'attached' to the bottom of the cushion to somewhere where its not being touched...if that's the case here.

the driver's seat in my '03 creaks also... I usually have it all the way aft, but if I bump it forward a fraction it seems to stop. For a while, anyway.

I could understand that with myself, but my wife only weighs 130 pounds and the seat does it with her too. I guess I'm going to have to take the seat out and take a look under there.

It's a good thing I love this car, cause there's always something!!

It was happening with me (as it has in other cars) and was the vinyl on the side of the seat that was rubbing against the console side. I just rubbed a little talc between them and all is silent now.

That's a good idea. Never thought about the possibility of the leather rubbing. It sounds and feels like it's coming from the bottom of the seat but I could be wrong. Can't hurt to give it a try.
