steering rack
replaced the high pressure steering hose a few months back because of a leak (replaced this as it was the cause of a previous steering leak). Haven't really driven much since then but the leak persists and is either the hp hose or the steering rack. Has anyone purchased a steering rack from Detroit Axle? Parts Geek has a new unit for $232 with free shipping

I also found rebuild kits on Amazon - thoughts on rebuilding the rack as a DIY???. Need to get it on a lift to truly assess but for those prices compared to SNG and a few others, it might be worth it to refurb the whole system

Steve,
Nearly ten years ago, Wayne (cjd777) and I refurbished the front suspension of my 1999 Ram using a very reasonably-priced kit sourced from Detroit Axle. The parts quality was excellent and the work we did then still holds up well today....
