Default steering wheel

my steering wheel has decided to stop retracting after key is taken out,i can do it manually but i have to bring it out again manually,i have seen the answer on here somewhere but cant find it,.......thankyou

Hi Dodger,
Make sure the little flap in the barrel is closing when the key is removed. If not, a tiny squirt of WD40 may help.
Also check the switch is set to auto on the side of the column.

Ok, I'll be the one to ask the silly question...

Are you sure the adjustment knob is rotated to the "automatic" position? Maybe a few clicks back and forth would help if the contacts were dirty inside.

Which position on the switch is "Automatic" ? Completely clockwise or counter-clockwise ?

Should be fully clockwise, but there is only about 30 degrees of rotation between the two positions.
