New to XK. On my 2001 XJ8, when I turn it off the steering wheel retracts and the seat moves all the way back. When I start it, the seat moves back up and steering wheel goes back to position. Al controlled by the round knob on side of steering column.

Does the XK work the same way? My steering wheel is retracting....but the seat doesn't move.

Sorry about the question as I don't have owners manual yet (just purchased 1998 XK).

the seat does not move due to the lack of rear legroom. if someone is sitting back there, their legs will get squashed

A related solution to the problem. I wanted the seat to move back upon exit which the XK does not do. Since my bride refuses to drive the car in fear of somehow damaging it there is not a need for a number 2 seat position. I set the #2 memory to all the way back and punch that button just before exiting the car.

Problem solved!
