stray cable in passenger footwell

stray cable in passenger footwell

While reaching down for the hood release lever I felt a loose cable, so pulled it free.

Anyone know what this is for and where it should be connected?

This is just a guess, but if everything is working then it may possibly be the axilliary 12 volt cable. I think that cable goes behind the glove box.

It does not appear to me to be a connector type typically used by Jaguar....It may have been for an aftermarket device.
