Stuck Trac off button.
I was pressing all the buttons on the console just to work them. and naturally one of them stuck. The trac off button is stuck in the down position. Any ideas of how to remove the face plate so I can get to the module and fix it?
I had not driven the car in three weeks.

Mine got stuck too. I never heard how to properly fix it. But one day, I think it was hot, I got in the car and it was back to normal. I was burning off some old tires for a while so I was using the button quite a bit. Sometimes it would stick and sometimes it wouldn't. But after repeated use (it would always unstick after a while) it loosened up and seems to work fine now.
Well as other things with this car, maybe I'm due for some voluntary pay back from the car. Hears to hoping for self unsticking. I must say your reasons were more fun than mine. I was hoping it would work and you were wanting it not to work.
Yeah, now I have the new Hankook's on and its back to not using the button
I did take the center muffler out and put the H-pipe in, so at least it sounds better now and I have that to listen to when I floor it - albeit with the traction control on.

I fixed the trac button. I took out the entire center console to find out the head unit surround was in about six pieces. This caused the upper head unit to drop down and put pressure on the next head unit which has the trac button. It is amazing that this plastic piece holds the entire module together and the way the thing was made so cheaply without any reinforced corners is, well cheap! I got out the torch and found all the bits that I could and added extra ABS plastic and re-welded the entire head frame. I know I sucked in a few carcinogens of molten ABS, killing a few brain cells and can probably add lung cancer to my future. But since I never smoked and quite drinking along time ago I felt I had a few to spare this week end. I can recreate in photo's if any one is interested . Plus the added dust and mung collected in the buttons did not help either.
I have had this happen to my Hazard light switch, the fix was to loosen the securing screw a 1/4 turn back from hand tightened. The increased pressure from the fastener deflects the plastic and will cause the outer switches to stick.
