I love my 02 XK8 Coupe, but it will not last forever. So I occasionally think about its replacement. I bought the XK8 in lieu of an XKR because of my perception that a supercharger might be unreliable.

However, it is my impression after reading this forum for a few years now that the supercharger is NOT a repair "hot-spot" for the XKR...Am I correct?

80,000 miles no problem, the performance is outstanding. Brings a grin every time I drive it. The only problem is when the boss drives it she can't keep her foot off the gas.

I haven't read a single post in all my membership about a failed supercharger on any of the XKRs, knowing that, I'd have 99.5% confidence in buying a car, no matter what the mileage. I'd be interested to hear what any of the techs have seen in their days around these cars more frequently.

 

When I was "shopping", I talked to a lot of owners - anyone I could find on the street. Every single one of them told me that if they had it to do over again, the would buy an "R"! Why? No one had a clear answer, except that if you wanted the experience, the "R" was ultimate. I bought an R! DaleD
