Default Thermostat housing

Hi Guys
In previous post i mentioned a coolant leak. On further inspection it does seem to be the thermostat housing.
I have read that there are hoses under the inlet manifold which may need changing so i thought i would remove inlet manifold to access the hoses and also make it easier to change thermostat housing. Have looked at JTIS and cannot find manifold removal (probably my stupidity). Is it straight forward and is there anything i need to know. Any views on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
VIC

VIC,

If it's just the Thermostat Housing that's leaking, you're giving yourself a lot of extra work removing the manifold. There are cooling pipes under there but they 'normally' leak at the rear and not the front of the engine.

The procedures on N/A and S/C engines are different. Now you know why we ask members to add vehicle details to their Signature!

If we are talking about a 2000 XK8 then removing the intake is not difficult. You will need to remove the throttle body. Under the TB you have 2 bolts along with the bolts holding the intake manifold in place. You will need to disconnect other hoses and lines but that depends on if you are removing the intake totally to replace the gaskets or reusing the same gaskets.

Forgot the injector harnesses that need to be removed.
