Thanks for the info! I just paid 250 for the water pump. How much you paid for the housing? Do you have the 8 or the r? Thanks!
I have replaced the water pump, thermostat, and thermostat housing with the aluminum one and here's what I can share:
The water pump was under 50 dollars.
I installed the aluminum thermostat housing, did not paint it, and years later it looks fine and works great. No more problems in this area.
None of this is difficult.
