throttle cable adjust
I saw a video by "sam1174" adjusting the cable on his 2003 xk8. Mine is a 2000 and is different. Any videos on this subject for a 2000 xk8? I'm new to this Jag so I'm trying to be extra careful.
Shouldn't be much different. On my '01 the connectors are not the same as the newer '03 and up models, but the principle was the same.
Loosen holding nut, back out (tighten) cable adjuster and retighten nut when done. Keeping an eye on the butterfly in the throttle body is a good idea to make sure you don't over tighten. You want just a smidgen of slack. Maybe 1/32" at the cable mid-point?
Done right, you will see an immediate improvement in throttle response. In my case, the throttle was only opening about 65%, so it made a huge difference in performance.
