Took the car to Austin Cars and Coffee - Aug 2010
Just came home from Austin Cars and Coffee. The name is misleading since the event is actually at Leander, TX - about 30 miles north of Austin.
The event starts @ 10am to 1pm - but only stayed until 11am - it's getting too hot to hang out. There were quite a few cars - all makes and models are welcome. I got my spot at the main lot though - the perk of showing up early. I parked next to what I dub the murderer's row, right next to me are a trio of murdered out cars - Ford GT, Viper and a Gallardo.
Here are some sample pictures - resized. Enjoy!

But you know Matt - you'd be surprised about the nice remarks that the car generated, even in the presence of true exotics. I notice something too - that the younger crowd, 35-ish and younger gravitate towards the Scuderia, GT, Viper and such, the older crowd - like the Jag and the Maserati GranCabrio ......

Need help id-ing a roadster too ......
I will skip the September event but be back for the October one - and I plan to go alone. I took my 11 year old Sheltie and he did not feel like walking several blocks under the Texas sun .....

Well that's easily explained.
Maseratis and Jags are geared for comfort, not for racing. They don't get much time in rap videos or in drag races.
Cars like the Viper, and GT are built purely for speed which is much more important to the younger crowd (my car is faster than your's!!!). I'm sure the Viper would be pretty uncomfortable on an actual road trip. I can't see the GT being much better as it is a race car.
Lambos are only popular because of their extensive visibility in rap videos. You can be rest assured if Jaguar's appealed to the tasteless rap artists and got the same video time, you'd have all the 18-21 year old girls drooling over it because they saw Lil Dawg rawlin wit hiz gurl of the hour who those young girls dream they could be, even if only for a brief segment in a lame music video.
