Default Took some pictures today of the XK8

I needed a new signature pick, so out I went looking for interesting spots to take pictures of Beth <- yes, named

After a fresh detail, I found a few locations that were pretty nice for backdrops... hope you like.

The car looks so good that it gives a surreal quality to the pictures...and you have a great eye for composition. The photo with yor car poised in the long grass is truly Jag-like. Top shelf, that.

thanks guys! Christo, the camera is a canon 5d, but the process that really makes the image look...as andy put it, surreal, is done if photoshop (or in my case, PaintShop Pro X2). The originals are pretty boring actually.

A few things...first - saturuation, bumped up to bring out the reds and greens a bit. Secondly, I adjsuted the curves/levels to just above what a perfect exposure would be on the silver paint. Finally, I used the 'clarify' command (its under the brightness/contrast dropdowns on most programs) and that took the highlights and darkened them only, defining the really light areas. I recently experimented with it and found I like it. That's what gives the clouds the definition...as it was a total overcast day. It did a little magic to the paint also.

Aha! Secrets revealed. I think the last seven women I went out with are hip to that Paintshop trick, 'cause they sure looked different in person too.

You have a very good eye for composition and the surroundings are great. It makes me want to do a photo shoot somewhere of my car!

You have a very good eye for photography alright. My favourites are the 2nd pic and the signature pic - good use of the broken road barriers! I don't like silver as a car colour, I have to confess, but this is an immaculate Cat. Very nice alloys - 19"?. Looks like your headlights have been blackened out as well?

thanks raheny, yes they're 19" good guess. Also, the 2003s started blackening the inside of the lens housing. You don't miss a thing do ya?

Default Side repeater.

Beautiful car! My car is an 01 and did not have the side repeaters, only a Jaguar badge. I added the side repeaters, but didn't like the amber ones. They stood out too much for me. I ordered the clear ones and think they look much better.

I like those Lew, and considered swapping them out to clear also. I thought about when my signal is on, i'd rather have amber. I tried several amber LED styles in there, and nothing was as bright as the original 194 bulb in this application.

These have an amber bulb in them, so they flash amber and are actually brighter than the amber lens ones.

Damn Matt! very nice, the backdrops really brought out the Platinum paint!

My brother was too teaching me about clarify and saturation he does a lot of my pics youve seen.

I was guessing you had use photoshop so when I saw you used the same thing it made me happy bc of their quality!
