Default Trans fluid flush?

When should the trans be flushed on a Mercedes unit trans. The car is a 01 with 6,700 miles on it.
Thanks

Did you mean 67 thousand miles? If so, then it can be changed anytime. Some guys start at 60k, others (that would include me) drag their feet for 100k.

If you really meant less than 7k miles are on the clock, what museum did you buy this from?

I did mine at 69k and the fluid was pretty bad. I also put the blue top solenoids in when I did it since it was easy to do with the pan already dropped. Mine is a 2000 and a lot of people said there is no torque converter drain plug, but I found one in mine. I just manually turned the engine over a tiny bit at a time and kept getting under and looking for the drain plug. After doing this for a few minutes the drain plug finally appeared. This allowed me to change out over 90% of the fluid instead of only about 1/2 with a pan drop alone.

The dealer said the TC drain plug does not exist when I tried to buy a new washer for it. I went down the street to the Mercedes dealer and asked for the washer for a 99 s600, and it worked fine. I used Amsoil signature series multi vehicle ATF (got over 9qts in).

Yes I really mean 6,700 miles.. I bought it over the summer. Nicest used car I have ever bought. I am trying to flush all the fluids out. So that brings me to my original question, should I flush the trans? Even with such low miles?
Thanks

Amazing, I must say. Might be OK to keep in, but if it were my car I would do what it sounds like you are doing and change all the fluids. Even oil goes bad and who knows what has settled or built up inside over the course of a decade.

Plus it gives you more of a look at everything so you might catch any small issues before they become big ones. Gaskets, seals and hoses will have aged regardless of the low mileage.

Good luck and congratulations on a rare find. Now go drive the heck out of it!

p.s. god time to heavily condition the leather. Unless the PO kept up, it will be getting stiff from age and non-use.

The PO did a really good job at maintaining the car. He changed the oil every year. He even replaced the p-zeros at 4,000 miles. I did condition the leather when I first got it. Thanks for your help!

How about a picture or two of your low mileage car? Thanks in advance.
