Update on my XK8
The cat is alive. After sitting for 2 years, she had some issues.
What I have done so far:
New battery
New Fuel Pump
New Ignition Coils
New Spark Plugs.
New Front shock Bushings
New Front Shock Mounts
Front Control Arm Bushings
She runs and rides well now, but I'm having issues with one of the wheel speed sensors. .I replaced it and it still reads bad.
I'm hoping that I just got a bad sensor and have ordered another. Also, the cruise control works as long as you are on level ground.. when it tries to accelerate and downshift, cruise is disengaged and "Engine Fault" appears but no code is stored when I scan it. Hoping that is related to the wheel speed sensor.
Now I need to see what I can do about the paint. Clear-coat is faded in some areas. Is there a way to re apply clear-coat? The underlying basecoat is still intact
One thing that I want to add regarding the Fuel pump. I was not about to go through the BS of removing the tank. I cut a hole in the back right above the pump and replaced it with a metal plate when finished. You don't see it because there is a molded carpet liner back there anyway. Jag should have made an access panel like that from the factory like most other cars. Wayyyyy easier!!!
