Default Upholstery removal

I am in the process of routing the front hydraulic lines and have run into a snag. How do you remove the front driver's area carpet?

Specifically by the hand brake (emergency brake) and or the area near the pedals?
The area by the handbrake (foot sill is removed) is free but the handbrake will not let the carpet be removed

I was able to remove the carpet from the console area and by the rear seat

The park brake is bolted to the chassis. You will need to remove the garter to access the 2 fasteners. See picture below.

I have done this before and had sufficient access under the carpet with the sill removed without removing the carpet completely...no need to remove the handbrake.

Wonder if the hoses are not secured under the carpet, if they will eventually get chaffed and leak

+1 on snaking them under the carpet. I don't expect any problems from that method.
