OK...so I misplaced my key fob. I figured I would eventually find it. I have not (2 weeks) so I guess I can re-categorize as lost.

In the meantime...the trunk will not open. It is in "Valet Mode" Inside and outside button do not work. I have been using the black key to lock/unlock car. Will not reset. I tried green car...to no avail.

I assume this is all related to lack-of-FOB and once I replace it all should be well?

The black key should also unlock the trunk. I also thought that valet mode was cancelled when the black key is used to start the car...

 

Wow...there is a key hole for the trunk. This is embarrassing. It was buried amongst the XK-8 insignia. O'Boy...this is embarrassing.

I never knew it was there...wow ...I am a newb...mea culpa...

 

Yeah, I was wondering if I should have told you where the keyhole is -- it's kind of hard to see if you don't know where to look...
