For those of you thinking about the difficult-to-get-to task of changing the gear oil in your rear differential, Autozone is currently running a sale on either Valvoline 75W-90 or 75W-140 full-synthetic gear oil. Two quarts for $20 which is an excellent price. The job typically requires 1.5 to 1.8 quarts of fresh oil so this deal should supply all that you will need. Wayne (cjd777) and I will tackle this job on my wife's 2006 XK8 (now at 119,400 miles) when our cool autumn weather finally shows up here in central North Carolina, probably by mid-October. I am going with the 75W-140 version....
