A pleasant overnight stay in the Château de la Cazine near La Souterraine.
Highly recommended. The Creuse is one of the least explored parts of Central France but has some real treasures.
Georges Sands and Fred Chopin used to visit often and the impressionist school of painting flourished in Crozant with Monet painting some well known works.
Here we are at the Château

All the reception staff rushed out 'Quelle Belle Voiture !!'
On the way there just idling along at 100 km/h on a really superb country road and the rear view mirror filled up with a big black Beemer already winking to overtake. Really!!
Just a quick kickdown to 200 and he became a little black dot. Oh I felt SO sorry for him.

and this is the pretty village of La Celle Dunoise on the river Creuse

Steve,

Magnificent. Shame someone's parked their old car outside.

Wish it had been. I'd much prefer to be in France.
