Default Victory Edition Differences

It's just come to my realization, (yes, after I have purchased the vehicle), that I have a victory edition xkr... What are the differences between my 06 victory edition XKR, and another supercharged xkr?

This according to the brochure:

The special XK 'Victory' edition road cars will arrive in four exclusive, limited edition exterior colors – Black Copper Metallic, Frost Blue Metallic, Bay Blue Metallic and Satin Silver Metallic – (other standard XK colors will also be available on 'Victory' models) with four interior colors and two distinct veneer options for the dashboard to create 18 possible combinations for the buyer to choose from. ‘Victory’ editions will offer Carbon Fiber interior trim on all XKR models, as well as feature a new Elm wood veneer on the XK8 models.

The 2006 Jaguar XK 'Victory' models will benefit from several additional new features including standard Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. With Bluetooth, a compatible telephone may be wirelessly controlled via the XK's steering wheel controls, without ever leaving the driver's pocket or purse, for easy, hands-free use.

The XK8 models currently feature 19-inch 'Atlas' style wheels, which will come standard with a sporty chrome finish, while the XKR models get a new, unique 20-inch BBS wheel design (Perseus). The XKR also gets cross-drilled Brembo® brake rotors, while the XK8 adds power-fold exterior mirrors.

Tying in with Jaguar's racing heritage, special badging and accents will adorn the 'Victory' models in acknowledgement of the XK's racing achievements – polished door treadplates featuring checkered flag emblems and leather-edged floor mats. The Jaguar Growler badge also features checkered flag accents on the sides of the emblem.

What is not mentioned above are the unique seats that have more supple leather (as do the door panels and center console) with a different stitch pattern using a contrasting thread colour.

What colour did you get? Mine is black copper with a saddle and ivory interior and looks spectacular in the sun!

I have a 2006 XK8 Victory Edition, but I don't think it has "power-fold exterior mirrors". Maybe they were not included in my market (US). Or maybe I just don't know how to use them.

Check pg. 3-24 in your owners manual for instructions on the power fold-back mirror.

My XKR Victory Edition has the power folding mirrors too. I had the car for a year before I realized it! With the mirror selector in the middle (neutral) position, move the adjustment control as you would to adjust your mirrors down (back towards you) to operate the folding feature. Both folding in and restoring to normal driving position is done by moving the adjustment control down.

Also note that Victory Editions have different tail light lenses, they are smoked but clear circles remain where specific lamps are. I have not seen this documented much so I thought I'd throw it out there.

It is not on my 2006 Victory Edition XK8. The brochure linked on the post above says it is an option. I don't think I would want it or use it if I had it. Don't like the sound of it.

Default thank you for statistics on the XKR VE 006

I have one of 382, 2006 XKR conv VE, and love it. MY 3rd jaguar (2000 xk8 conv and 2001 xj8 sport sedan. both sold)
mine now is the rare (how rare?? of 382) blck copper with ivory interior. It has aftermarket bbs wheels AND I do have the original BBS 20" PERSEUS wheels with used bridgestone tyres for sale.
I dont know how to attach photos to this.. I do enjoy reading this forum. I am aa member of a local british car club --Positive Earth Drivers Club, NJ

Barry,
Very nice XKR VE in one of the four exclusive colors (Black Copper Metallic, Frost Blue Metallic, Bay Blue Metallic and Satin Silver Metallic). I have not seen any color statistics on the VEs. Any VE is rare enough. A VE XKR Convertible in one of those four colors is even rarer. A VE XKR Coupe in one of those four colors would probably be a unicorn!
Happy driving,
Mike

Hey Barry! I have that exact same car!! I always have a big smile when I’m driving that bad boy. Wondering if you have a toggle switch in your armrest? I think it might be some sort of after market amp for the radio. Still trying to figure out what it does??? lol

Default I do have an exclusive White Onyx XK8 VE

Even this color was not listed in the VE brochure mine what ordered White at Orlando Jaguar dealer.

i love it and I do have the Bluetooth that is link to the radio and what I love is when I use my cell phone GPS, every instructions from it is send to the radio and don’t need to look at the GPS just listen at it from the radio.

The adaptative cruise control and limited speed control work perfectly. Just don’t change your brake light for LED because it will interfere with the cruise control. Foldable mirrors work and not limited to the VE but a lot of owners don’t know that you can use the key in the door to open and close the convertible roof.

S

ound system Premium is even better then the one in my new Jaguar XFS.

I have an undocumented switch in my arm rest as well. Investigation has revealed that it switches the antenna motor trigger. ie in one position it allows normal function of the antenna. In the other position the antenna either doesn't extend, or if extended it retracts.

On my XKR VE, the previous owner had used the “undocumented switch” to make the operation of the antenna purely manual. Only extends if you flip the switch on. No more automatically rising telephone pole whether you want it or not.
