Default VVT Connectors

The VVT connectors on each side of my engine have become brittle and broken. The connector I am referencing is the connector on the wiring harness that plugs into the VVT assembly.

On the passenger side, someone before me sealed this connection with what looks like heat shrink to hold it in place. On the drivers side, I had to plug in each of the 2 wire connectors individually and then wrap the entire assembly with electrical tape to keep these connections in place.

Two questions:

1) can the wires to the VVT be spliced?

2) are these connectors available anywhere?

Thanks!

Tom,
A Ford Part No.: AU2Z-14S411-ADA Vvt solenoid connector is reported in another thread. Picture attached.

I imagine that you could splice the wiring if necessary and cover with some heat-shrink sleeving.

HTH,
Mike

Because the VVT seals always leak and need replacing, these connectors get undone a lot and the fasteners get broken. Mine too are missing the clips that hold male to female. One day I will hold them in place with a small plastic tie.

If the wires are intact you can use a pin or the proper tool to remove the wire and plug and replace with a good connector body.
