Default VVT Solenoid Plug/Connector Replacement

Hello All...

Was working on my XK8 today and shattered the plug that connects to the top of the VVT Solenoid on the passenger side. I've been looking around with no luck. Does anyone have a part number, the actual name or a source for said part? Perhaps a replacement pigtail. Anything. I would like to replace them both I think...

Fingers crossed.

This machine is starting to get the best of me.

Hey fmertz... Thanks!

Is there a proper term, a name or a part number - that you are aware of?
And yes,,, I'll be taking a look as well.

aeromotive.us can make the pigtails for you with the proper connector. they are rather expensive. this connector is actually a Ford windshield washer pump plug from what i was told if you want to try this route

Hi Whitehat.

Just found them, thanks to fmertz, at the RockAuto site.

I'm looking into these. They are $31 bucks on RockAuto, although I cant tell if its one (1) or a set of two (2). $31 seems a bit much for one pigtail. I think I'll hold off and wait to talk to Ford in the AM. Save a buck or two. Maybe, lol.

Still open to options JF mates...

I got some from Ford awhile back, can't remember the cost but they fit perfectly.
The Ford part number is - AU2Z-14S411-ADA

Thanks dsnyder586!

I'm looking at them. The image is tough to make out. So what do you do? Is there a proper crimp and you just thread the wires into the ends and squeeze down? And NO I dont mind grey - hopefully they will send black, lol. But HEY.

I did just order the (1) for $31 from rock. I'm gunna run and see if I can cancel the order,,, depending on your answer.

You can remove the wires (or in my case, they came with the wires out) by lifting the white part and sliding a pin between the plastic and the metal plug part of the wire. Then simply slide the old wires into the new plug and click they are in place and locked. Easy peasy once you figure out how it works.

This way you don't have to splice any wires!

I appreciate you ALL so so much...!

Thank you... That car whipped me today. Still trying to WIN an inspection sticker here in NYC (2 $64 tickets, parked in front of my house, since the 1st of May!) and worked my *** off today to reset VVT and timing to solve a P1396 code. I'm haunted by it.... After shattering the connector, having to be towed yesterday due to a blown oil coolant return line (which I replaced today), most likely not solving my code - I was thinking to just hang it up. This is a tough machine and it fights back. Anyways,,,, all these replies raised my spirits (dare I say faith) in my ability to continue the wrestling match with her. Thanks again.

I canceled the Rock order - and just went with the Ford parts from the number provided by TerryM... $20 bucks each.

Fingers still crossed.

Hello All.

Just reporting back and to say thanks! I hadn't forgotten.

The plugs came in from Ford, shrink wire covers and all, were a perfect fit and things went and look just fine...

Still with my VVT 1396 code and CEL but, I'll be getting a replacement actuator this week and will be on it.

Thanks for being there - everyone
