Default Wanna know what I did today

Did not work on my car today. Did take a nice 6:30am Drive to Captree/ Long Island- NY. Car show. Plenty windy with 35 degree temp. Plenty of die hards showed up for the car meet regardless of the weather. Including motorcycles and one brave heart in shorts.
View is one of our many light houses seen from Captree.
In addition you can see front ride height with my new Welsh UPGRADED upper spring/shock bushings replaced. These upgraded bushings are made with a very hard, plastic type material in place of the soft spongier factory bushings. Does make the car ride a little harder, lifts the front end and handles much better. tight curves the front end is flat. So consider you choices before you installed. Rich
PS, My XK8 only has 55k miles. Front upper shock mounts are a time issue rather than miles... Rich

I checked welshent's website and it seems to me this is the way to go. Didn't know anyone sold an upgraded shock mount! The price is right too! $178 for the pair. Since one of mine failed, I am going this route.

Do you think these will last longer than the oem shock mount?
How long did Welsh take to deliver yours?

Welsh sells these on Ebay for $157 and free shipping...

And they are the upgraded version, not the stock foam. Weird, I know.

Wait, I'm confused. It says repair kit on the ebay link. Is it not a polybush shock mount what they sell?

It's very confusing. TexMurphy ordered these off E-bay and He received finished uppers ready to go in, not a "kit" you have to rivet together, with the black poly and not the orange foam.

I ordered mine Direct from Welsh a week earlier and pad about $40 more (including shipping) for orange foam.

Hi Daniel, I did purchase them on Ebay as I stated to Ungn. for $ 156.95 from the supplier " jagsjagsjags. item # 311509183326 and they are still available. Per Welsh website they do describe as upgrade as the insulation material is less pliable, less movement and minimal chance of the rubber deterioration. Rich PS I do like the results.

That's weird. From ebay you get the polybush shock mount as a unit and from their websote you get the kit with foam. Why is that?
