Default Water in fuel tank

Hey everybody.

I got my self 1996 Jaguar XK8. 1 year ago I found out that there Is water in my fuel tank. So I took the fuel tank out, opened it and cleaned it. For A year it was fine, but now again there Is water. Do you have any suggestions? Or someone have had the same problem?

Thanks in advance.

Interesting... How much water?

The only thing I can think of is that there are 2 drains in the area of the fill spout/neck behind the fuel door. In that line there is a escape route for fuel that might spill during filling and a hole at the bottom of the "well or cavity" of the filler area for water that gets around the cover door. I guess both can serve as a drain for spilled fuel. The drain (on my 2004) starts with 2 drain lines, then connects into one, then goes out of and under the car.

The lines can get clogged pretty easily.

The lines can be tested simply with a pitcher of water to see if water is backing up. The lines can be seen from inside of the car if you remove the carpet wall on the inside of the boot. way back up in there.

What kind of "angle" is the car on when parked?

How do you know water has gotten in again ?? Won't run anymore or runs poorly? Is it sitting empty and it's heavy condensation?
You raise a lot of questions and this is my .02 to help. TM
