Weak Radio Reception - XK8
As Lisa and I continue down the path of restoring our 2000 XK8, our focus is now on the radio. Everything works well with the radio, except its reception range is very weak, especially compared to our other vehicles. The trunk CD player works great and the electronic antenna goes up and retracts properly. Would a new antenna help this problem out? I will take all advice, as I would normally just replace the radio, however, as mentioned, everything else works great.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks White XKR,
Your advice was right on. I started at the trunk, pulled out the spare tire cover, then the forward trunk sound barrier, followed by the passenger side (antenna side) trunk sound barrier to expose the antenna cable in the rear. I had to use my hands to fish around behind the convertible hydraulic pump unit to begin the trace, and there it was, a loose cable connecting to the cable directly coming off the antenna unit. So, I slipped it back together, tested the radio and Perfect, a bunch of radio stations to choose from! I used a piece of gorilla tape to hold the connected antenna wires together, as I did not want to have that issue again. So I buttoned everything up, backed it up out of the garage, and I drove off as while my wife selected the radio stations to lock in! Thanks again, not sure why I didn't think of doing that first...busy times! Very much appreciated.
