Question What is this for?

Hello, just wondering if anyone can help, can you tell me if my car has C.A.T.S from this pic? OR is there any other way to identify if it has or has not. My car is a November 1999 registered model and I was wondering if it had the newer AJ27 engine ( from a post I saw among the thousands I have viewed in the last couple of weeks since buying the car, head is spinning now LOL's ).
Is there a way to check the spec, I believe it is reasonably good as it has the electric rear view mirror and a Harmon Kardon audio system fitted, still finding out about it.
Any comments welcome.

Yes you have CATS, as there is a wire going to the top of your shock absorber.

Stop in at a Jag garage and ask them to print off a spec sheet for your car, they should do that free of charge, maybe.

Thanks for that really quick reply RaceDiagnostics, however Stratstone Jaguar of Newcastle never do anything for free, LOL's.
Thanks again I am a lot more informed now about my purchase, any idea how to tell the engine type? I read somewhere from 1999 they uprated the engine from AJ26 to the AJ27 is that correct?

Kind regards,

ArtyH

Whilst you're in Newcastle persuading Dutton Forshaw or Stratstone to print off the Direct Dealer Warranty - Vehicle Details for your vehicle, think ahead and ask for the Radio Code if you don't already have it.

I can almost guarantee you'll need to disconnect the battery at some time and you'll need the Code to unlock the radio when it's reconnected..

It is an AJ27. You can tell by the VVT solenoid connectors on the tops of the cam covers toward the front of the engine.

Many thanks Graham will do, I am lucky enough to have the radio code, it was in one of the care books, think I will try Dutton Fawshaw for the info.
However WhiteXKr has kindly confirmed one of my question, I have the AJ27 engine. So roll on Saturday.
Kind regards,
ArtyH

I have just clicked a thank you button in a different thread which you posted clarifying the AJ27 engine. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Kind regards,
