I have a custom body shop in Columbia SC and want to relocate the climate control panel to where the navigation screen is and install a 10" tablet where the climate control panel and radio are located, on my 2001 xkr. I have removed the navigation screen and see a composite backing mount for the navigation screen but there is something behind that I cant see so before I start cutting through the composite brace that holds the navigation screen I was hoping someone might be able to tell me whats behind that mount. If I can fit the climate control panel there I have no doubt I'll be able to make a face plate as good or better than factory to support a tablet for myself and other Jaguar xkr and xk8 owners who want to upgrade their dash and dash components. You mean something like this?

This car went across BJ Auction a couple years ago, I took the photo with my iphone from the TV screen.

I believe it the center air vent duct behind the Nav screen.

Were you able to get this done? I would be VERY interested in this. I'm picking up a 2003 XKR this Friday and I want to tweak it out!!
