In my 2005 XK8 coupe noticed not all of the AC or Heat control buttons light up when you turn the headlights on. What buttons are supposed to be illuminated? the little red light goes on when you push them but they are dark unlike some of the others in front of the shifter above the radio. Are the window switches illuminated?

Are the buttons individually lit or does each one have a bulb? Is it hard to fix or is dark just what it is going to be.

Last question is in Auto the headlights are always on night or day. Is this normal.

Obviously the small buttons above functions are only lit if the function is activated. Seat heaters for example.

 

Thank you very much Mike. I have a whole row that is out. Since I'm new to the car at night it's a PIA not knowing where all the buttons are. Time to take it apart I guess.

Glad it was helpful. I feel your pain. I have some bad bulbs in the main dash area as well as the ones behind the HVAC screen. There are several videos on YouTube showing how to do it and what bulbs are needed (either OEM or LEDs).

Was in the salvage yard yesterday and a knob was off. Can see the little bule bulb in there. Wow, who knew. Thanks for your help.
