Default What's this??

Hello all, I made a start cleaning some earth's up today on my 2003 xkr. In the engine bay just below the main fuse box, near the abs module I found two earth's connected by this fuse type thing. Can anyone tell me what it is, ? It links two earth's together. Would the corrosion on it cause any problems do you think? I might buy a replacement when I can work out it's function. Many thanks for your help in advance.

That's definitely an 80amp fuse probably for the cooling fans (that is the only 80 amp fuse I can see on the car). Was it not inside a box? The cables won't be earths - one goes to B+ the other goes to the fans.

To answer your corrosion question, whenever you see corrosion like that you should clean it up as it would cause a voltage drop at those sort of current levels. No need to buy a new one, just clean that one up with sandpaper or dipping the ends in acid.

Many thanks for clearing that up. The box/ cover was dangling at the side, i did clean it up and replaced everything. I was hoping the two posts were earths and i had found the source of my gremlins!
