whats the difference between LJA1410AK/003 and LJA1410AK/002
Hello folks.
Been looking around for a cheap donor car and have come across this issue. Found a 96 Jag XK8 with all the same VCATS codes as my own. That is until the very last digit in the ECM . Mine is LJA 1410AK/003 and the possible donor is LJA1410AK/002
The donor car is also missing the ADM code all together, active dampening control module.
My car was built 09/11/96 whilst the donor car was built 30/10/96.
Any ideas what this last digit is and what it means regarding compatibility?
Thanks in advance

I believe it's the firmware revision. The /003 should work in place of the /002 but not necessarily the other way round.
EGR was deleted somewhere in the 97 XK8 production run*, so it might be related to that.
In any event, if it hasn't begun to digest itself it is well worth keeping as these early ECMs are getting rare. I understand that it's possible to reflash with the later code - one of our module experts will confirm/refute that.
Adaptive damping was optional - and seems to be pretty rare on the early cars?
*I have somewhere some notes referencing this hiding somewhere (there are also a couple of referring TSBs). I'll post it when/if it turns up.
