seen this hanging down under the car near the rear ? anything to be concerned about ?

Sorry, I don't know. Any codes? Maybe part of the evap/emissions?

I'd dig deeper and avoid the match test :-)

Looks to me like the water drain from the boot (trunk) lid gutter on a convertible. If it is a 'vert then you'll see the top end of it behind the fuel tank carpet covering in the boot. Think it's just come unclipped. On mine there is one on each side, linked together in the middle with a T piece. Afraid if it's a coupe, then I can't help much beyond saying the pipe looks very similar.

On my '97 that's the drain tube for the gas cap area, not the top (those hoses are smooth rubber and fit into a T in the middle). Mine dangles more than I would like too, but my clip is still attached to the car, while yours seems to have come loose.
