Ok I just finished installing new shocks and upper shock mounts. My question is should I get a wheel alignment and ifso can a goodyear dealer or someone like that do it? Here are the pictures of the old parts, looks like it was long due.
If you put the caster shims back in the right place, all they are going to align is toe.
I aligned the toe in my driveway with some string, and drove it up/down the street a couple times to perfectly center the wheel... that was 8,000 miles ago with no issues or weird tire wear.
^^ What he said. The typical alignment shop will only perform a toe alignment on these cars. They cannot align caster or camber unless they take the suspension components apart and start messing with the shims. You probably do not want them doing that....
Absolutly get it aligned because when you change the ride height(you did with new upper bushings)this changes the camber which always changes the toe. Yes camber is not adjustable but any time you replace suspension pieces you need to realign the car period... And alignment is always cheaper than tires
Brutal is totally correct. You HAVE to align it because the toe will be off.
Unless the tierod jam nuts are rusted on or stripped, the guys in the shop will be high 5ing each other because an X100 is the most simple alignment, ever... It will go up on the rack, the guy will wrench on it for 2 minute, it will come off the rack... $100 please.
