Default Where is the fuel filter in a 2003 XKR?

The title says it all. Where's the fuel filter?

I tried looking under the car near the rear left wheel. All I saw was the fuel lines coming down from the tank area and continuing to the engine. JTIS said it's under the rear left seat pan. I lifted up the rear seat cushioning but could not find the filter or any access holes there. Is it accessible via the boot perhaps?

Thanks,
K

It is accessible from underneath the vehicle - not from inside. Follow the fuel lines forwards from the LHR wheel arch.

You're looking for a cylindrical metal bodied filter.

Graham,

Just finished replacing the two fuel pumps in the jag that had filters on the bottom. If that is where your problem is, there is a great video on how to. As you need to remove the fuel tank for proper access to the pumps IMHO. I am also going to post some more tips regarding what I did. There might be filters elsewhere but my problems were with the pumps.

Ken, would you describe what symptoms your car was exhibiting that led you there?
Same question to Jagtheripper.
Thanks.

I had a P0171 logged (lean condition in Bank 1) which actually most likely is a bad downstream O2 sensor actually. Haven't replaced it yet but it looks like dead looking at the ODB2 data.

While hunting for the cause for this code I've been doing quite a few preventative maintenance things that could lead to the code. One of them being using a fuel system cleaner (in case of clogged up fuel injectors) and a new fuel filter.

Sorry, been out of town for several weeks. Car would not start and fuel pumps would not turn on (you have to listen from inside the trunk) must have someone with good hearing !!

Sorry, checked the relays in the trunk and fuses in the fuse and relay box behind the battery.
