Default Where to hook up float charger?

Here in New Jersey like so many places across the country it's cold. My XK8 is in a unheated garage and I want to hook up a float charger. I thought I read in the forum some time ago that you should hook it up at the terminals under the hood not at the battery. Tried finding this info in a search but, couldn't find the related post. Thanks in advance

Cheers!

If you wanted to you could hook the charger up to the fuse box under the hood. I left my keys in the trunk once and the battery went dead. Hooked up some jumpers to a spare battery positive to the fuse box and ground to the frame and opened the trunk. I assume you could hook the float charger up to charge the batteries the same way.
